What is Christmas without Christmas treats??? I have a fantastic recipe for Christmas cut-out cookies (get it here), but sometimes, I don’t feel like spending two days making cookies. This Christmas season, I have been especially craving the simple. And what could be more simple than 4-ingredient cookies?!

I made this recipe all the time a few years ago! I completely forgot about it until recently when I was looking for an easy cookie recipe my 6-year old could do by herself. I can’t believe I didn't think of these sooner!

You could just make plain old cake mix cookies with just three ingredients, BUT you may not want to stop there. Turn these already amazing cookies into culinary wonders :) by choosing an extra to add (white chocolate chips/peanut butter chips/powdered sugar/Andes chips) The options are limitless!

Four simple ingredients and a few minutes in the kitchen is all you need! For these cookies in particular, we formed them into balls and then rolled them around in powdered sugar to create the crinkle cookie effect, but feel free to play around and turn these into whatever you want to…there are so many options!

Fudgy Crinkle Cookies
1 box chocolate cake mix
½ cup oil of choice (we use coconut oil)
2 eggs
Powdered sugar
Stir dry cake mix, oil, and eggs together until dough forms. (It won’t be as thick as regular cookie dough.) Form dough into 1-1 ½ in. balls, allow dough balls to “dry” for a couple minutes (otherwise the dough soaks the powdered sugar right up). Finally, coat them powdered sugar and lay about 2 in. apart on a cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes or just until set.

Whoops! I never took an after picture! (Story of my life!) So I had to take a screen shot from my Instagram stories. Hopefully it's not too blurry to still get the idea of how pretty they look when it's all said and done. Let me know if you try them!
