Traditions are something that are so exciting, especially for the kiddos, so it is important that we intentionally think and plan out which ones we want to include in our homes. Around Christmastime, traditions can really come in hot and heavy, and the tendency is to cling to a ton of different ones. The result is, we wear ourselves ragged. To combat this, we like to pick a few traditions that are meaningful to our family…and by this we are building memories that will last a lifetime. This is a simple one that we like to do every year because it is something that we do daily anyways…READ!

If you’ve followed along on Instagram for any amount of time, you know how much we love reading around here, and that is why one of our favorite traditions is to read (or watch) a Christmas story every single day in December ending on Christmas day. I say, “watch,” because a lot of the stories can be found on YouTube! To be honest, some of the YouTube stories are a bit cheesy, but if your kids are anything like my daughter, they’ll be happy if it is something moving on a screen. I promise, you will run across some gems that you’ll want to watch every single year! (Our favorite storyteller on YouTube is The Cozy Chair. She does a great job and makes the stories a lot of fun!)

Linked here you will find a Christmas book list that contains three different categories: general titles, books for the little ones, and read-alouds. The last one in particular is a shorter list and is one I hope to expand in the future, so let me know in the comments if you have any great Christmas read-aloud recommendations.
This book list has really been a labor of love, and I hope so much that you build some special memories with your family by reading through some of these stories. Several of them have really great applications, and I bet you’ll enjoy them every bit as much as your littles.
